INIS update their FAQ document and allow for e-filing of EU Treaty Rights & Domestic applications

INIS have issued two new Notices as of 15th April 2020 in light of COVID-19:

Notice 1 | Impact of COVID-19: Frequently Asked Questions

A new Frequently Asked Questions document about the impact of COVID-19 on Immigration and International Protection also been published.

See here.

Notice 2 | EU Treaty Rights and Domestic Residence applications: COVID-19 Update

As part of combined efforts to adhere to the Government’s strategy to slow down the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to ensure customer safety, INIS have decided that, as a temporary measure between now and the 20th May 2020, to allow EU Treaty Rights and Domestic applications to be submitted by email together with scanned copies of supporting documentation.  EU Treaty Rights will require the original application to be submitted by post in due course.

More information on the application process can be found here.

The current situation will be kept under regular review and the most up-to-date information can be found on the COVID Section of the INIS website.

This is another welcome and forward thinking approach by INIS and will ease application submissions in the current COVID-19 restrictions period which run in Ireland up to 5th May 2020.
